As a Carpenter at Builco Residential Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for carrying out skilled carpentry work across renovation, repair and construction projects, including interpreting plans, preparing materials, erecting structural elements and installing finishes. This position requires strong technical carpentry skills, attention to detail and a commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Review renovation plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, set-out requirements and installation methods for residential and commercial projects.
- Select, organise and prepare suitable timber, fixtures, wallboard, lightweight steel and other building materials for kitchens, bathrooms, living spaces and outdoor structures.
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble timber and other materials to meet custom renovation requirements and project specifications.
- Erect and install wall framing, roof framing, sub-flooring, floorboards and other structural carpentry elements, ensuring accuracy, alignment and compliance with project designs.
- Check levels, measurements, alignment and trueness of structures to ensure completed work meets plans, quality standards and site requirements.
- Install external features such as decks, pergolas, cladding, fascia panels, door frames and window frames for residential and commercial renovation projects.
- Install prepared cabinetry, joinery components, fittings and fixtures as part of kitchen, bathroom and living space renovation works.
- Form precise joints, finishes and connections to ensure strength, durability and a high standard of workmanship.
- Perform repair, maintenance and upgrade work on existing residential and commercial structures, including exterior repairs and replacement of damaged fittings.
- Operate carpentry tools and equipment safely and maintain work areas in line with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors, tradespeople, team members and clients to support clear communication, efficient project delivery and successful renovation outcomes.
- Relevant qualification, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Carpenter.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, renovation plans and specifications.
- Practical experience in residential and/or commercial renovation carpentry.
- Proficiency in using carpentry tools, equipment and construction materials safely and effectively.
- High attention to detail, accuracy and craftsmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards and safe construction site practices.
