As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence, we are looking to expand our kitchen team with the addition of a passionate and experienced Pastry Chef. Role We are seeking a qualified Pastry Chef to manage all aspects of our dessert and baked goods production. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, and presenting a wide range of pastries, cakes, and desserts that align with our high culinary standards. This role will involve creativity, precision, and a strong understanding of food safety and quality control. Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other baked goods.
- Decorate and present desserts and pastries to high aesthetic and taste standards.
- Develop and test new dessert recipes and seasonal pastry menus.
- Ensure freshness and consistency of all products served.
- Manage inventory and ordering of pastry-specific ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of pastry section and equipment.
- Ensure all baked goods comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Work with the Head Chef and broader kitchen team to coordinate dessert production.
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff or apprentices when required.
- Manage workflow to meet service timeframes and customer expectations.
- AQF Certificate III in Patisserie or equivalent (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
- Minimum of 3 years' full-time work experience in a commercial pastry role.
- High attention to detail, creativity, and a strong aesthetic sense.
- Solid knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
