Yorke and Northern Local Health Network is seeking motivated and forward-thinking Emergency Consultants to join the newly developed Division of Emergency and Acute Medical Services based in Wallaroo and Port Pirie.

This is an exciting opportunity for clinicians who want more than just a job — it’s a chance to contribute to meaningful service development, clinical leadership, and long-term improvement in regional emergency care.

The Opportunity

Multiple consultant positions are available across the Emergency Departments at Wallaroo and Port Pirie.

Over the past year, the service has experienced:

* Significant investment in junior medical staffing
* Improved clinical safety and workflow efficiency
* Expansion of Emergency and Acute Medical services
* Growing patient presentations, with a 10% increase in ED attendances

The departments are now seeking experienced Emergency clinicians who are passionate about:

* Delivering high-quality patient-centred care
* Supporting and mentoring junior doctors
* Driving clinical governance and quality improvement
* Helping shape a progressive and evolving regional health service

Flexible appointments from **0.5 FTE to 1.0 FTE** will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

* Deliver high-quality Emergency Medicine services with advanced clinical autonomy
* Provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team environment
* Support safe and efficient day-to-day Emergency Department operations
* Participate in MET / Code Blue / Code Black responses
* Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and allied health teams
* Contribute to teaching, education, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Support the development of regional medical training pathways

What We’re Looking For

Applicants must hold:

* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility under the SA Medical Officers Award
* Fellowship or nearing completion of:

* FACEM
* FRACGP
* FACRRM
* or equivalent recognised qualification

You will demonstrate:

* Strong clinical leadership skills
* Commitment to patient safety and clinical governance
* Ability to work independently within a regional setting
* Enthusiasm for education, mentoring, and service development
