About the Role

The Facilities Team Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring Yadu Health’s multi-site operations run safely, smoothly, and efficiently. This position leads a small team responsible for facilities management, fleet operations, asset maintenance, property management, grounds upkeep, cleaning services, and contractor oversight across our Ceduna, Thevenard, Koonibba, and Scotdesco sites.

You will provide hands on technical leadership, oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programs, ensure compliance with WHS and building standards, and support the delivery of safe, high-quality health and aged care services.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Leading, supervising, and developing a small facilities team across multiple sites.
  • Coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance programs to ensure safety, compliance, and operational continuity.
  • Managing asset lifecycle planning, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Overseeing contractor engagement, inductions, supervision, and performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, building codes, essential safety measures, and aged care physical environment standards.

This role requires someone who is proactive, culturally respectful, and deeply aligned with our mission to support First Nations health outcomes .

About You

To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria:

  • Experience leading and supervising a small operational team.
  • Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle management, preventative maintenance, and contractor management.
  • Understanding of WHS legislation, building compliance, and fleet compliance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, trades, and service providers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management systems.
  • Commitment to working within an Aboriginal community-controlled organisation and demonstrating cultural respect.
  • Valid Driver Licence (Class C or equivalent).
  • Trade qualification or significant facilities/building management experience is desirable.
  • Experience in health, aged care, or community services environments is desirable.
