Hays are partnered with a large education provider in Broome, seeking a Facility & Operations Manager to commence in June 2026.
Your new role
The position will manage the delivery of Facility Management Services, Health and Safety Management and statutory compliance, whilst building proactive relationships across internal and external organisations/individuals. You would be required to be available and/or on call for out-of-standard hours calls regarding facility issues, emergencies, security incident response and urgent maintenance matters. What you'll need to succeed
- Design, implement and maintain processes and programmes that manage planned and corrective statutory and regulated maintenance activities that drive performance and meet agreed service levels through a consistent approach to maintenance activities across the campus.
- Develop and maintain maintenance plans to ensure service delivery is maintained in accordance with relevant capital expenditure and minor works to enable timely decision-making by management.
- Plan, oversee and continuously improve asset availability and performance through the development of best practice, compliance audits and the application of asset-specific effective life cycle management.
- Provide expert technical maintenance advice ensuring statutory maintenance obligations are met
- Monitor approved budgets and exercise control measures as required to ensure projects and maintenance programmes are within expected timeframes and budget allocations and can deliver the required service levels.
- Ensure that obligations under the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulations and other associated codes of practice and advisory standards are met and complied with whether works are performed in-house or by external contractors
- Undertake the responsibilities of the position by adhering to the organisation's policies, procedures, and relevant legislative requirements
- Comply with all other reasonable training and duties as identified by the line manager (or delegate).
- Provide after-hours emergency and facilities response service as required
