Architectural Specification Manager | A + D Flooring

About the Role

Our client, an established A + D flooring studio is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Specification Manager to lead and grow the Queensland territory across architectural, interior design and key specification networks.

This is a true territory ownership role, responsible for embedding products into projects early, strengthening design-led relationships, and building a consistent, qualified pipeline across commercial, multi-residential and high-end residential sectors.

The successful candidate will bring an existing QLD A&D network, strong presentation capability, and the discipline required to manage long-lead specification cycles through to project conversion.

Key Market Focus

You will work closely with:

  • Architectural and interior design studios (multi-residential, workplace, hospitality)

  • Multi-residential and mixed-use design practices

  • Commercial design and fit-out firms

  • Key specification consultants


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive specification growth across the QLD territory

  • Identify, establish and nurture new relationships within leading A&D practices

  • Strengthen existing accounts and increase specification share

  • Map design studios, decision-makers and project pipelines within target sectors

  • Deliver polished product presentations in studio, CPD and showroom environments

  • Respond to design briefs with technical accuracy and commercial awareness

  • Coordinate samples, pricing and project information requests

  • Reactivate dormant design accounts within the existing database

  • Work closely with the State Manager and Commercial team to support project tracking, builder engagement and specification-to-order conversion

  • Collaborate with marketing on targeted events, campaigns and studio engagement initiatives

  • Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene and accurate pipeline reporting

Performance Metrics

  • Quarterly specification pipeline targets

  • Qualified opportunity creation

  • Active account growth and studio engagement frequency

  • CRM accuracy and reporting discipline


About You

  • 3–7+ years’ experience in specification or A&D-focused business development

  • Established Queensland network within architecture and interior design

  • Experience working with specification-led building or decorative products

  • Confident and engaging presenter in studio and CPD environments

  • Highly organised with strong follow-up and pipeline management discipline

  • Commercially aware and comfortable managing long sales cycles

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously within a defined territory


Architectural 

  • Design-literate with strong product storytelling capability

  • Structured, process-driven and accountable

  • Proactive in pipeline generation rather than reliant on inbound leads

  • Relationship-first but commercially grounded

  • Strong personal ownership of territory performance
