    About the Role

    The Employment & Training Project Support Practitioner plays a central role in delivering Kurbingui's Employment and Training programs, including the Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Program and Tailored Assistance Employment Program (TAEP). Reporting to the Line Manager/Program Manager, this role supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (and non-Indigenous) job seekers to build skills, gain qualifications, and transition successfully into the workforce. Balancing practical participant support with administrative responsibilities, the Project Support Practitioner works from a culturally safe, strength-based approach to achieve positive employment and training outcomes.

    Key Duties

    • Support the delivery of SQW and TAEP programs, including development of Individual Support Plans for participants
    • Engage and guide trainees through daily training and program participation activities
    • Maintain accurate and timely program administration, including timesheets, records management, and reporting
    • Identify and implement referral pathways and support options for participants
    • Support cultural excursions and activities; work collaboratively with Elders and Cultural Mentors
    • Build and maintain productive relationships with RTOs, GTOs, host agencies, and other stakeholders
    • Support program compliance and quality outcomes across all Employment & Training services
    • Uphold workplace health, safety, organisational policies and procedures, contractual and legislative requirements and cultural safety standards at all times

    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, individuals, participant families, Elders and communities in a culturally safe manner
    • Sound knowledge of the community services sector and employment/training pathways, including referral processes and program compliance
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating and supporting program activities that enhance employment and training outcomes
    • Strong time management and organisational skills, with demonstrated ability to balance participant support, administration, participant support plans and reporting requirements
    • Understanding and application of strength-based, culturally appropriate approaches within project delivery
    • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with competence in MS Office and Client Management databases

    Qualifications

    • Qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Psychology, Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work related field
    • Current QLD Driver's Licence
    • First Aid and CPR
    • Current Blue Card (Positive Notice)
    • NDIS Worker Screener (or ability to obtain)
