Job Description



Helping Hands Picnic Creek is seeking an inspiring and motivated  OSHC Assistant Coordinator  to join our growing Helping Hands service. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role where you’ll shape culture, drive quality, and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and your team.

This is a  permanent, part-time  role (28 hours per week) working across split shifts, Monday to Friday.

Service hours include:

  • Rise Then Shine: 6:30am – 9:00am
  • Stay and Play: 2:30pm – 6:00pm
  • School Holidays: Block shifts between 6:30am – 6:00pm

About your new role

As an Assistant Coordinator, you’ll help lead a team of passionate Educators and oversee an engaging before- and after-school program for children aged 5-12 years. This role is all about leadership: 

  • Design and help lead a vibrant, child‑centred program, filled with engaging experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, arts and crafts.
  • Assist with rosters, daily operations, compliance, and administration.
  • Build a positive, inclusive team culture where Educators feel supported, motivated, and proud of the program they deliver.
  • Partner with families, the school community, and internal stakeholders to ensure the service continues to grow and thrive.
  • Be supported by an experienced Coordinator and Regional Manager, so you’re never doing it alone.

Qualifications



If you have a passion for supporting children, we’d love to hear from you! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

  • Working towards or completed a relevant qualification to work as a 2 Year Qualified Educator in QLD in accordance with ACECQA
  • National Child Safety Training completion prior to onboarding (via Gecko)
  • Enjoys working with children and making a positive impact  
  • Communicates clearly and confidently  
  • Works well in a team and aspires to grow into a leadership role  
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) a National Police Check and a Working with Children check  
  • Has Australian work rights
