Refrigeration Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic to join its team in Alice Springs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repair, and commissioning of domestic and commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.

The role will involve working across a range of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment while maintaining high standards of workmanship, customer service, safety, and professionalism.

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently when required, contribute positively to the team, and maintain respectful relationships with clients and co-workers.

Key Responsibilities & Duties   

Installation, Servicing & Maintenance   

• Carry out domestic and commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning installation, servicing, and maintenance.
  

• Install, service, and maintain ducted and split-system air-conditioning systems.
  

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
  

• Inspect systems to identify defects, wear, and potential operational issues.
  

• Ensure systems operate efficiently and safely.
  

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Mandatory   

• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV equivalent to ANZSCO Skill Level 3.
  

• Demonstrated experience with ducted and split-system air-conditioning installation.
  

• Demonstrated experience in domestic refrigeration and air-conditioning maintenance and servicing.
  

• Demonstrated experience in commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning maintenance and servicing.
  

• Strong practical knowledge of refrigeration systems and components.
  

• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs.
  

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
  

• Ability to work safely with refrigeration equipment, tools, and systems.
  

• Strong commitment to customer service and quality workmanship.
  

Desired   

• Experience organising, mentoring, or working with apprentices.
  

• Experience across a broad range of domestic and commercial refrigeration systems.
  

• Experience working in regional or remote environments.
  

• Additional refrigeration, air-conditioning, electrical, or technical certifications.
