Sr. Visual COBOL Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Provide production support for enterprise applications, ensuring high availability and timely issue resolution.

• Manage and resolve production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes through problem management.

• Handle service requests in line with agreed service levels and operational procedures.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application and database issues.

• Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless application support.

• Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to enhance system stability and reliability.

• Participate in application maintenance, defect fixes, and minor enhancements.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.

• Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and organizational support standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience in Visual COBOL development and support.

• Experience working with Enterprise Server.

• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database.

• Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL.

• Experience with UNIX Shell Scripting.

• Hands-on experience in Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Request Management.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in a production support environment.

• Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
