Location: Geraldton, WA (or other location by negotiation) I Salary: SCHADS Award Level 5/6 (depending on experience) I Fixed Contract Role

Are you passionate about caring for Country and supporting your community? WYAC is looking for a Project Officer in our Joint Management team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead (with support from industry experts) to implement a Healthy Country Planning project across Wajarri conservation areas
  • Work closely with Elders, Traditional Owners, and the Wajarri community
  • Undertake training and professional development to upskill and lead the project successfully
  • Plan and run on-country field trips and activities for conservation and cultural mapping, Keep fieldwork safe, practical, and culturally respectful

We’re looking for someone who:

– Has experience in community development or project management

– Is connected to Wajarri country and community

– Can manage field logistics, travel and safety

– Has knowledge of, or willingness to learn about Joint Management, including; conservation, land tenure and culture and heritage values

– Strong written communication skills and ability to document, research and collate information

– Family friendly and flexible working environment
