The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director Project Controls, the Senior Manager Risk is responsible for steering VicGrid's risk management strategy across a program of delivery projects. It will work closely with the Risk Management team and external contractors to focus on identifying, analysing, and mitigating risks and opportunities across a project lifecycle. Core duties will involve maintaining risk registers, running assessment workshops and advising project teams within the Delivery & Commercial team.
What you will deliver
- Lead the implementation of risk management policies and frameworks for the VicGrid works program and influence risk-related policies, ensuring strategies are aligned with long-term objectives and enhance the program's risk profile.
- Identifying risks and opportunities, recognising potential consequences and ensuring appropriate controls are put in place and allocated to responsible parties.
- Risk Identification, Analysis & Assessment and Response Planning.
- Workship facilitation - facilitate risk identification, assessment, and mitigation workshops with multidisciplinary delivery teams for VicGrid's program of works.
- Quantitative Analysis - lead Quantitative Cost Risk Assessments (QCRA) and Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) using Monte Carlo simulation methodologies. Quantifying and analysing specific risks and accuracy ranges associated with time and cost plans.
- Support delivery teams with cost risk identification, assessment and mitigation strategies, while contributing to the continuous improvement of cost control frameworks, systems and practices.
What you will bring
- Experience in a similar Risk role within government, the energy industry or a contractor, ideally with prior exposure to working in a start-up environment.
- A project delivery background with a sound understanding of risks associated with procurement, commercial contracts, project management and transport services.
- Experience in risk management associated with major complex projects in the concept through to completion, handover and operation phases.
- A track record in facilitating risk workshops and achieving consensus regarding impacts, mitigations and allowances.
- Quantitative risk analysis (e.g. Monte Carlo simulation, etc) experience.
