- Creative Leadership: Collaborate directly with the Animation Director and our global clients to define the specific character performance, emotional range, and visual style of our projects.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and supervise a diverse crew of animators. You will be responsible for fostering an environment of continuous improvement, providing constructive feedback, and nurturing talent at all experience levels.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Rigging and VFX departments to refine rigs, troubleshoot technical hurdles, and ensure performance briefs are achievable and optimized for production.
- Workflow Optimization: Participate in regular dailies and reviews, constantly looking for ways to streamline our animation pipeline to maximize creativity while maintaining efficiency.
- Production Oversight: Manage the “big picture” of the animation schedule. You will ensure that shot progress, production milestones, and departmental budgets are tracked, met, and communicated effectively to production management.
- Storytelling Expertise: A masterful grasp of composition, timing, and narrative weight. You don’t just move characters; you tell stories through movement.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive, high-level experience with Autodesk Maya in a demanding, professional production environment.
- Leadership Presence: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and mentor large teams. You are known for your clear communication, adaptability, and your ability to keep a team focused under pressure.
