As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join the team. This role requires a skilled professional to oversee financial reporting, taxation compliance, and cost analysis for this dynamic medical group, working closely with senior management to ensure high-quality financial reporting and statutory compliance.
- Location: Sydney NSW
- Salary: Negotiable in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum
- Tenure: Full-time, ongoing
Key Responsibilities:
Working alongside senior leadership, you will be responsible for:
- Formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
- Preparing financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and aiding in asset management.
- Ensuring the continued appropriateness of internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Preparing and analysing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Managing the integrity of the firm’s accounting systems, providing high-level supervision of trust accounts, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Preparing the monthly management reporting pack relied upon by business decision-makers.
- Reviewing and updating internal accounting manuals and procedures.
- Developing systems and resources to streamline and automate business processes.
- Overseeing the ongoing accuracy of the bank reconciliation process.
- Preparing regulatory returns, including monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Handling ad-hoc or special projects as requested by management.
What We Expect to See:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
- Proven professional experience (at least 1 year, preferably more) as an accountant in similar professional settings.
- Progress towards, or a demonstrated interest in, professional accounting qualifications (CPA / CA or equivalent).
- Proficiency in contemporary cloud accounting systems and standard office software suites.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Australian taxation law and financial reporting requirements.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong systematic/critical thinking skills.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
