Committed to delivering high‑quality, accessible healthcare grounded in personalised attention and preventive care, our client offers a comprehensive range of services—from general practice and chronic disease management to skin cancer medicine and occupational health.

As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join the team. This role requires a skilled professional to oversee financial reporting, taxation compliance, and cost analysis for this dynamic medical group, working closely with senior management to ensure high-quality financial reporting and statutory compliance.

  1. Location: Sydney NSW
  2. Salary: Negotiable in the range of $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum
  3. Tenure: Full-time, ongoing

Key Responsibilities:

Working alongside senior leadership, you will be responsible for:

  1. Formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
  2. Preparing financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and aiding in asset management.
  3. Ensuring the continued appropriateness of internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  4. Preparing and analysing comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  5. Managing the integrity of the firm’s accounting systems, providing high-level supervision of trust accounts, and general ledger reconciliations.
  6. Preparing the monthly management reporting pack relied upon by business decision-makers.
  7. Reviewing and updating internal accounting manuals and procedures.
  8. Developing systems and resources to streamline and automate business processes.
  9. Overseeing the ongoing accuracy of the bank reconciliation process.
  10. Preparing regulatory returns, including monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS).
  11. Handling ad-hoc or special projects as requested by management.

What We Expect to See:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline.
  2. Proven professional experience (at least 1 year, preferably more) as an accountant in similar professional settings.
  3. Progress towards, or a demonstrated interest in, professional accounting qualifications (CPA / CA or equivalent).
  4. Proficiency in contemporary cloud accounting systems and standard office software suites.
  5. Up-to-date knowledge of Australian taxation law and financial reporting requirements.
  6. Meticulous attention to detail and strong systematic/critical thinking skills.
  7. Excellent time management and communication skills.

Requirement: You must have unrestricted, full-time Australian working rights to be considered for this role.
