Seeking a strategically-minded Associate Civil Engineer to join their Brisbane team. This is a senior technical leadership role ideal for an engineer ready to lead civil projects of significant scale and complexity, mentor emerging talent, and contribute to the firm's continued market leadership and technical innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead complex civil engineering projects across master planning, land development, pavement design, and stormwater infrastructure. Direct project delivery from concept through construction, ensuring designs meet technical specifications, client expectations, and commercial viability.
• Design Oversight & Quality Assurance: Oversee civil design packages and coordinate with structural, façade, and specialist engineering teams on integrated solutions. Ensure all deliverables meet the firm's rigorous standards and comply with relevant Australian codes and local authority requirements.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Direct and mentor civil engineering teams and junior staff. Provide technical guidance, conduct design reviews, and support professional development to build a capable and engaged team aligned with the firm's culture of excellence.
• Stakeholder & Authority Management: Liaise directly with clients, local government authorities, utility providers, and sub-consultants. Present design solutions, manage approvals processes, and coordinate across multiple disciplines on integrated projects.
• Integrated Design Coordination: Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver comprehensive solutions on complex built environment projects. Ensure civil engineering input is seamlessly integrated with other disciplines.
• Business Development & Proposals: Contribute to fee proposals, cost estimation, and project scoping for new opportunities. Identify growth opportunities and support the firm's strategic expansion in Queensland.
• Process & Standards Development: Play an active role in developing and refining civil engineering standards, design methodologies, and quality management processes to enhance the firm's competitive advantage and market positioning.
• Construction Oversight & Site Liaison (as required): Provide technical support during construction phases, including contract administration, progress reporting, and site surveillance on complex projects.

Who We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) recognized by Engineers Australia.
• RPEQ, NER, or CPEng accreditation (or demonstrated progress toward achieving it).
• 12+ years of post-graduate civil engineering experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in a senior or leadership capacity within a consulting environment, preferably on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in civil design and project delivery across land development, infrastructure, pavement design, and stormwater management.
• Poficiency with industry-standard software (12D, AutoCAD, or equivalent civil design tools).
• Strong understanding of Australian design standards and Queensland local government authority requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and foster a collaborative, integrated work culture.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and scope management on medium to large-scale projects.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—for effective stakeholder engagement at all levels, from clients and government authorities to internal multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with stormwater modeling software (DRAINS, TUFLOW, MUSIC, or equivalent).
• Exposure to digital tools, BIM coordination, or advanced modeling techniques.
• Experience supporting or leading business development activities.
