About the Opportunity
Service Stream's Utilities division is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Brisbane team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across critical water and wastewater infrastructure that supports local communities every day. You'll be part of a skilled and collaborative team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving essential assets that keep vital services operating safely and efficiently.
No two days are the same. You'll undertake a diverse range of work including preventative maintenance, breakdown response, equipment installation, commissioning activities, and minor project works across treatment plants and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater treatment assets
- Troubleshoot and fault-find mechanical equipment and systems
- Carry out repairs, installations, commissioning, and decommissioning activities
- Support the delivery of minor capital and improvement projects
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to maximise asset reliability
- Assist with work planning, scoping, and estimating activities
- Mentor apprentices and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
- Experience within the water industry or a similar industrial environment
- Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across mechanical plant and equipment
- A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
- Willingness to undertake further training and development opportunities
Highly regarded
- Experience working on wastewater treatment plants and associated equipment
- High Risk Work Licence
