About the Opportunity

Service Stream's Utilities division is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Brisbane team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across critical water and wastewater infrastructure that supports local communities every day. You'll be part of a skilled and collaborative team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving essential assets that keep vital services operating safely and efficiently.

No two days are the same. You'll undertake a diverse range of work including preventative maintenance, breakdown response, equipment installation, commissioning activities, and minor project works across treatment plants and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and reactive maintenance on water and wastewater treatment assets
  • Troubleshoot and fault-find mechanical equipment and systems
  • Carry out repairs, installations, commissioning, and decommissioning activities
  • Support the delivery of minor capital and improvement projects
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to maximise asset reliability
  • Assist with work planning, scoping, and estimating activities
  • Mentor apprentices and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Trade qualification in a relevant mechanical discipline
  • Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
  • Experience within the water industry or a similar industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across mechanical plant and equipment
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to safety
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development opportunities

Highly regarded

  • Experience working on wastewater treatment plants and associated equipment
  • High Risk Work Licence
