This role is flexible in level — suited to either a strong Overseer/Head Farm Hand or an experienced operator ready to step up. An established, professionally managed agricultural business is seeking a capable livestock operator to support the day-to-day running of a large-scale sheep and mixed enterprise on Kangaroo Island. This role is flexible in level — suited to either a strong Overseer/Head Farm Hand or an experienced operator ready to step up. THE OPERATION
- Large-scale sheep enterprise (Merino ewe base transitioning through a rebuild phase)
- First cross lamb production
- Trade cattle program aligned to seasonal conditions
- Part of a 3-farm aggregation with shared resources and planning
- Hands-on involvement across daily livestock operations
- Stock work including mustering, yard work, animal health and feeding
- Assist with grazing and pasture management programs
- Operate machinery and maintain infrastructure (fencing, water, yards)
- Work closely with the Farm Manager and broader team
- Support contractors during peak periods (shearing, marking, etc.)
- Step up into higher responsibility where capability allows
- Solid experience in sheep and grazing systems
- Confident stock handler with working dogs
- Practical, reliable and hands-on
- Able to operate machinery and handle general farm maintenance
- Good attitude and ability to work within a team structure
- Looking for a role with stability and progression
- Well-maintained infrastructure with recent upgrades
