We are currently seeking an experienced Environment Advisor to join our high-performing team at Woodie Woodie , located 407km southeast of Port Hedland.
Reporting to the Senior Environment Advisor, the successful applicant will be required:
- Assist in the development of Environmental Management Systems (aligned with ISO )
- Undertake environmental monitoring and sampling in line with regulatory and internal requirements
- Assist with execution of mine planning designs for compliance with regulatory approvals
- Contribute to the development of Mining Related Approvals, including licence amendments, clearing permit applications and Mining Proposals
- Liaise with site departments to ensure compliance requirements are understood
- Collect and review data relating to environmental reporting requirements; including NGERs and NPI
- Conduct area inspections with department stakeholders to assess alignment with environmental management requirements
- Present training and awareness packages to the workforce as required
- Supervise and liaise with various environmental consultants, including rehabilitation works
- Asses internal clearing applications and supervise works
- Provided day to day advice on environmental matters
- Attend mine planning meetings to embed environmental outcomes into the mine planning process.
Requirements to be successful in this role are:
- Experience in environmental management in the mining industry or related fields
- C class drivers licence and 4WD experience
- Exposure to environmental approval processes
- Experience in undertaking environmental monitoring and sampling activities
- Experience in undertaking workplace audits and inspections, identifying non-conformance and developing corrective actions
- Sound understanding of environmental data management
- Experience in hazard identification and incident reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Applicants must be able to pass a full pre-employment medical, provide an NPC (dated within the last 6 months (or able to obtain) and provide valid references.
