A leading Federal Government Agency is seeking experienced Principal Platform Engineers / Senior Cloud Engineers to lead highly complex platform engineering initiatives supporting secure, scalable and reliable technology delivery across a large enterprise environment. Working across cloud platforms, automation, developer enablement and platform governance, you will play a key role in shaping reusable platform capabilities, cloud-native services and engineering standards that support modern digital delivery. The successful Principal Platform Engineers / Senior Cloud Engineerswill secure an initial 12 month contract with a 12 month extension option and receive a rewarding hourly rate!

The successful Principal Platform Engineers / Senior Cloud Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Designing, building and enhancing reusable platform services and cloud-native capabilities.
• Establishing platform standards, automation frameworks, templates and engineering guardrails.
• Improving developer experience through self-service platforms, onboarding and enablement initiatives.
• Embedding secure platform engineering practices including compliance, vulnerability management and security automation.
• Leading platform roadmaps and collaborating with architecture, security and delivery teams to drive platform adoption.

The successful Principal Platform Engineers / Senior Cloud Engineers  will have experience in the following:

• Extensive experience designing and operating secure, scalable cloud platforms across AWS and Azure.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, containerisation and orchestration technologies.
• Proven experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, automation and modern DevOps toolchains.
• Demonstrated knowledge of secure platform engineering, policy-as-code, compliance automation and vulnerability management.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills within complex enterprise environments.
