The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a Construction & Infrastructure Lawyer (Associate / Senior Associate) to join a leading Construction & Infrastructure practice in Sydney.
Working closely with experienced partners and senior practitioners, you will advise on complex front-end construction and development matters across a broad range of industry sectors including commercial, industrial, education, mixed-use developments and FMCG.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with sophisticated clients, gain significant client exposure, and play a key role in the procurement and delivery of major projects while continuing to develop your technical expertise and professional profile.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising clients on front-end construction and infrastructure matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction and project documentation
- Assisting developers, project managers and asset owners with project procurement strategies
- Advising on risk allocation, project delivery models and contract administration
- Managing matters with increasing autonomy while collaborating closely with senior lawyers and partners
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers within the team
- Contributing to business development and networking initiatives
About You
- Minimum 4 years' post-admission experience
- Demonstrated experience in front-end construction law
- Strong drafting and contract negotiation skills
- Ability to manage matters autonomously while working within a collaborative team
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and commercially
- Strong attention to detail and commercial acumen
- Desire to develop professionally and build long-term client relationships
- Positive, proactive and team-oriented approach
