Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry and creating delicious baked goods. This role requires someone with significant baking experience, with high volume production experience advantageous. Strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team setting or using their own initiative is required.

The Brunetti Oro Pastry Chef (Commis, Demi and Chef de Partie) is responsible for preparing a wide range of baked goods and desserts, ensuring that high-quality standards are consistently met. Their duties include creating and designing pastries, cakes, cookies, and other desserts, as well as managing inventory, ensuring proper storage, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. The successful candidate must be familiar with a variety of ingredients and recipes. They may also supervise and train other staff and stay up-to-date with industry trends to innovate and enhance the dessert offerings. Attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential traits.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and decoration.

Creativity and attention to detail in dessert design and presentation.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

Demonstrating knowledge and confidence in production of various pastries, danishes, croissants, focaccia bread, cakes, novelties filling, wedding cakes, Italian pastries.

Demonstrating the necessary skills to finish and decorate cakes using various techniques like hand masking, glazing, spraying, novelties, and wedding cakes as required.

Providing functional assistance in the production team demonstrating superior standards of preparation, production and finishing within your specialized field

Implementing superior standards of preparation and production within the department demonstrating and utilizing your pastry skills, experience and knowledge gained from previous roles and qualifications

Contribute to the fulfillment of production schedules and targets, ensuring all products are prepared to the Brunetti Oro standard, demonstrating organizational skills and superior attention to detail

Building and maintain productive working relationships with team members and foster a respectful, productive and collegial working environment and culture

Adopting a ‘hand’s on' approach to work, leading by example and demonstrating initiative and ability to work within a fast-paced environment

Collaborating with the team to innovate and develop new products and menu offerings

Demonstrate control in food preparation and managing wastage levels

Demonstrating strong knowledge of HACCP and legislative food safety standards
