Hays is partnering with a well-established mining operation to appoint a Senior Human Resources Advisor. The organisation is seeking experienced professionals who bring credibility, sound judgement and a practical approach to employee and industrial relations.

Your New Role

You will provide HR advisory support across multiple operational sites and partner closely with leaders on a broad range of workforce matters.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing HR advisory support to operational leaders

  • Managing complex employee relations matters including

  • Providing practical industrial relations and employee relations guidance

  • Building strong relationships with leaders and employees to establish trust and credibility

  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and internal policies and procedures

  • Supporting workforce planning and organisational initiatives

  • Assisting with performance and development processes

  • Contributing to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Supporting HR governance, systems and reporting requirements

  • Working across HR systems, processes and transactional HR activities

  • Supporting the ongoing improvement of HR systems, including ELMO

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline

  • Approximately 5+ years' experience in an HR Advisor or Senior HR Advisor role

  • Strong ER and IR generalist experience

  • Experience coaching, influencing and partnering with operational leaders

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills

  • Strong HR systems capability, including HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office

  • Previous experience within mining, resources, heavy industry, manufacturing or remote-site environments

  • An understanding of FIFO operations and the lifestyle requirements associated with remote workforces
