Job Description

Core Talent have partnered with a leading Manufacturing client who are seeking an experienced  Senior Electrical Engineer  to support and lead electrical engineering activities across our clients manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong industrial experience who enjoys working closely with production, maintenance, and project teams to improve performance, safety, and reliability.

You will play a key role in the design, upgrade, and optimisation of electrical systems supporting manufacturing equipment, automated processes, and plant infrastructure

Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical engineering design and technical support for manufacturing facilities
  • Design, review, and approve electrical systems including power distribution, motor control centres (MCCs), VSDs, and control panels
  • Support automation and control systems in collaboration with PLC/SCADA engineers
  • Provide technical leadership for upgrades, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital projects
  • Conduct fault-finding, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements on electrical systems
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, statutory requirements, and site safety procedures
  • Liaise with contractors, OEMs, and suppliers
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams

Requirements



 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy industry environments
  • Practical, site-based experience supporting operational plants
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, safety-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
