We are seeking an experienced and driven Transport & Warehouse Manager to lead a high-performing logistics operation based at the Port of Brisbane. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing transport, warehouse, scheduling, administration, compliance, financial performance, and operational efficiency across the branch.

About the Role

As the Transport & Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of both transport and warehouse functions while driving performance, compliance, culture, and customer outcomes.

You will lead multiple operational teams and work closely with internal departments to ensure service delivery, operational excellence, and financial success.

Key Responsibilities

Transport Operations

• Lead and manage transport and warehouse teams to achieve operational targets
• Oversee scheduling, fleet utilisation, and operational efficiency
• Work closely with Fleet Maintenance to ensure vehicle reliability and compliance
• Ensure adherence to Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR regulations, and all legislative requirements
• Monitor and improve DIFOT and other operational performance metrics
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving strategies
• Manage escalations relating to transport, warehouse, HR, payroll, and WHS matters
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring high service levels
• Oversee SLA performance to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
• Lead workforce planning, driver recruitment, and operational culture initiatives

Warehouse Operations

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inbound and outbound container movements
• Ensure staffing levels align with operational workload requirements
• Maintain stock control integrity, including CHEP & LOSCAM accountability
• Ensure safe product handling and adherence to OH&S procedures
• Manage contractors and unpack crews on-site
• Ensure warehouse presentation, cleanliness, and organisation standards are maintained
• Oversee equipment maintenance and servicing schedules
• Prepare operational and customer reporting as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience managing transport and warehouse operations
• Strong leadership capability with experience coaching and developing teams
• Exposure to freight forwarding, logistics, or large-scale transport operations
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and operational costs
• High attention to detail and organisational capability
• A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
• Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and operational legislation
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Skills & Systems

• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams
• Power BI experience highly regarded
• Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to undertake)
