About the opportunity
Unison Solar Energy is building its capabilities in Australian solar manufacturing and is seeking an experienced Material Control Specialist to support our growing operations.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring the timely and accurate supply of materials to meet production and business requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll help optimise material availability, improve inventory performance and proactively address supply risks.
This is an opportunity to strengthen material control processes, optimise inventory and drive continuous improvement while supporting the growth of Australian solar manufacturing.
Material Planning: Manage material requirements planning to ensure the right materials are available at the right time to support production .
Inventory Optimisation: Monitor inventory, material usage and supply performance to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise excess and obsolete materials.
Supply & Improvement: Identify supply risks, resolve material issues and drive improvements across SAP, planning processes and material control
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to ensure materials are available when required to support production and business demand.
- Monitor inventory levels, material usage and consumption trends to optimise stock levels, improve inventory turnover and minimise carrying costs.
- Maintain accurate material master data, planning parameters and transactions to support reliable and effective material planning.
- Develop and maintain material control reports and performance metrics covering inventory, shortages, overdue orders, supply risks and material utilisation.
- Investigate material shortages, delays, planning discrepancies and supply anomalies, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to achieve timely resolution.
- Identify and implement improvements to material planning, inventory management and control processes to enhance planning accuracy, operational efficiency and inventory performance.
- Monitor material supply and supplier commitments, identifying and addressing shortages, delays and supply risks to maintain reliable supply and compliance.
What you will bring
- A degree or associate degree in Statistics, Supply Chain, Logistics Management or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years’ experience in material control, supply chain, logistics or a related role, with demonstrated SAP experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret MRP outputs, inventory data and supply requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to identifying supply risks, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, process compliance and reliable planning outcomes.
