Job Summary

IIQAF Group is seeking a friendly, skilled, and customer-focused Barista to join our hospitality team in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, organized, and hygienic café or hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso, tea, and other hot and cold beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain commercial espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare espresso-based beverages including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white, macchiato, and other specialty coffees.
  • Steam and texture milk correctly to achieve the required temperature, consistency, and presentation.
  • Assist with food preparation, serving, clearing tables, and general café operations when required.
  • Support opening and closing duties, including equipment cleaning, stock replenishment, and workstation preparation.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff, waiters, supervisors, and other hospitality team members to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and high standard of customer service at all times.
  • Follow company policies, café procedures, quality standards, and applicable Australian food safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Barista, Café Barista, Coffee Barista, Beverage Attendant, Café Attendant, Coffee Specialist, or Café All-Rounder is preferred.
  • Experience in cafés, restaurants, hotels, resorts, coffee shops, catering, or other hospitality establishments is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso-based beverages, milk steaming, coffee equipment, and beverage service .
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, evenings, and public holidays when required.
