QC Scientist - Physiochemistry & Raw Material

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a QC Scientist to support quality control activities for raw materials testing and release at the Brisbane facility. The role involves physiochemistry testing, analytical data interpretation, and collaboration across supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure GMP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform raw material sampling, testing, and release activities per approved procedures and GMP requirements
• Execute and interpret physiochemistry analytical testing using laboratory instrumentation including pH, conductivity, osmolality, and TOC
• Review and assess analytical data and test records for accuracy, completeness, and ALCOA+ data integrity compliance
• Identify and report non-conformances and out-of-specification results to management
• Support quality system activities including change control, deviations, and CAPA processes

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related discipline
• Minimum 2 years analytical and quality control experience in biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry
• Strong analytical theory knowledge and laboratory analysis technical competency
• Knowledge of cGMP practices and biopharmaceutical processes
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments
