Tradewind Australia is proud to partner with a well-established and highly regarded not-for-profit organisation to recruit a newly created Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly created leadership role offers the opportunity to shape governance across the organisation while partnering closely with the Executive and Board. You'll lead governance, enterprise risk and compliance, helping strengthen organisational capability and support strategic decision-making. With governance at the heart of the role, you will provide strategic advice, strengthen organisational frameworks and help shape best practice across the organisation.

About the Opportunity
As the Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance, you will lead the organisation's governance framework and provide expert advice to the CEO, Executive and Board on governance, risk and compliance matters.
This newly established position has been created to centralise governance responsibilities and further strengthen organisational capability. Acting as the organisation's governance expert, you will play a pivotal role in supporting effective decision-making, maintaining robust governance practices and embedding a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and risk awareness.
You'll also oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring governance principles are embedded across organisational projects and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead governance across the organisation and provide strategic advice to the CEO, Executive and Board.
- Act as Company Secretary to the Board and Committees.
- Develop and maintain governance, policy and enterprise risk frameworks.
- Lead compliance, regulatory obligations and organisational audits.
- Drive incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Foster a culture of governance, accountability and organisational excellence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring demonstrated experience in governance, risk and compliance within a complex or highly regulated environment.
You will also possess:
- Significant experience supporting Boards, Committees and Executive teams.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles and governance frameworks.
- Experience leading enterprise risk and compliance functions.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with experience preparing Board-level documentation.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience within the not-for-profit, health, disability, community services or similarly regulated sector will be highly regarded.
