Summary:
The Workshop Manager will oversee the daily operations of our transport and rail workshop in Shepparton, Victoria. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient management of resources, staff, and processes to maintain high standards of safety and quality in our services. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising workshop performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise workshop staff, ensuring effective allocation of tasks and resources.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of transport and rail vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Develop and manage workshop budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of projects and services.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the workshop environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a workshop management role within the transport and rail industry.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related field are preferred.
