Winnunga is seeking a compassionate, organised and community-focused Social Health Team Worker - Client Support Worker to join our Social Health Team.
Based in the Social Health Room within the clinic, this role provides frontline support to clients who may need practical assistance, guidance, advocacy, referrals, service navigation or emotional support.
About the Role:
- Provide practical and emotional support to clients attending Winnunga.
- Assist clients with forms, applications and required documentation.
- Support clients to access internal Winnunga programs and external services.
- Provide advice, advocacy, education and referrals as required.
- Support reception and frontline service areas when clients present with complex or urgent needs.
- Assist with phone enquiries, appointments, opening procedures and frontline service delivery during high-demand periods.
- Maintain accurate client records, referral data and activity reporting.
- Work collaboratively across teams to support continuity of service and a positive client experience.
About You:
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.
- Strong commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and community.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support clients with complex needs in a calm, respectful and professional way.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
- Understanding of referral pathways and community support services.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist across different program areas where needed.
- Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and client-focused practice.
Essential Requirements:
- Current unrestricted driver licence.
- Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration, or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to comply with Winnunga policies, procedures, confidentiality and professional standards.
