Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Medical & Cardiac | Melbourne

$57.44 - $59.33 per hour

A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to lead and support a new Medical & Cardiac Ward at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is an exciting full-time opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and foster a supportive team environment within a leading healthcare organisation.



ABOUT THE ROLE

As an ANUM in the Medical & Cardiac Unit, you will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the ward. You will play a crucial role in clinical leadership, staff development, and maintaining exceptional standards of patient care.





Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team on the Medical & Cardiac Unit;
  • Assisting the Nurse Unit Manager with daily ward operations, resource management, and rostering;
  • Participating in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans for medical and cardiac patients;
  • Mentoring and supporting nursing staff, including new graduates and junior team members;
  • Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and relevant clinical standards;
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and risk management strategies within the unit;
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate comprehensive patient care and discharge planning;
  • Managing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges effectively.
REQUIREMENTS

  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA;
  • Extensive current acute clinical experience in medical and/or cardiac nursing;
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a senior nursing role;
  • A commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development;
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork;
  • Relevant postgraduate studies desirable.

REMUNERATION

$57.44 - $59.33 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.





ABOUT THE FACILITY 

The hospital, located in Melbourne, is an acute Medical/Surgical facility. It is proud to offer its staff and patients world-class care in a contemporary environment that currently provides 215 beds, 11 state-of-the-art operating theatres, and an Intensive Care Unit. It is undergoing a $180m significant development which will see the hospital almost double in size, including additional beds, operating theatres, a new expanded ICU, and an Emergency Department in addition to new Support Services.

Cardiac Ward is a 26-bedded ward with 8-bedded CCU facilities, managing a mix of medical and surgical patients.
