About the Job – Master of Ceremonies & Job Seeker Membership Officer (N+1)

Team: N+1 Industry Engagement Program

Reporting to: N+1 Industry Engagement President

Location: Adelaide-based only (Hybrid)

Commitment: 5-8 hours per fortnight

Role Summary

N+1 Industry Engagement is seeking two volunteers to support the N+1 Industry Engagement program:

  • MC (Master of Ceremonies)
  • Job Seeker Membership Officer

The MC plays an important role in delivering a professional, welcoming, and engaging networking experience. This role is responsible for managing the event rundown, coordinating with speakers in advance, and facilitating activities including the opening, speaker introductions, icebreakers, group activities, transitions, and closing. The role requires strong communication skills, confidence in front of a professional audience, and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.

The Job Seeker Membership Officer supports the ongoing engagement and experience of participants in the N+1 Industry Engagement Initiative. This role is responsible for managing the N+1 free job seeker membership, including administering membership forms, onboarding new members, and coordinating member activities and communications. The role acts as the primary point of contact for job seekers and participants, helping create a welcoming, supportive, and connected experience.

The N+1 N+1 Industry Engagement Initiative supports participants to build, sustain, and grow professional relationships through authentic, low-pressure, relationship-first engagement, rather than focusing solely on immediate recruitment outcomes.

This opportunity provides practical experience in event facilitation, professional communication, stakeholder engagement, membership administration, participant engagement, and networking, while contributing to initiatives that support employability, professional connections, and community engagement across South Australia.

Key Responsibilities

As an MC (Master of Ceremonies) , you will:

  • Manage the event rundown and ensure the program runs smoothly and according to schedule.
  • Work with speakers in advance to confirm topics, timing, content, and event requirements.
  • Facilitate the opening, speaker introductions, icebreakers, group activities, transitions, and closing.
  • Create a welcoming, professional, and engaging environment for participants, speakers, and guests.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with speakers, volunteers, industry professionals, and other stakeholders before and during the event.
  • Ensure participants are informed and engaged throughout the event.
  • Respond confidently to changes or unexpected situations during the event and help maintain a positive event experience.

As a Job Seeker Membership Officer , you will:

  • Manage the N+1 free job seeker membership and administer the membership form and related processes.
  • Support the onboarding of new job seeker members and provide them with relevant information about the N+1 Industry Engagement program.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for individual participants and job seekers engaging with the program on an ongoing basis.
  • Coordinate member activities and communications to encourage ongoing participation and engagement.
  • Maintain accurate membership information and records.
  • Support members in accessing relevant N+1 networking activities and opportunities.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with members and contribute to a welcoming and supportive participant experience.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the membership and onboarding experience for job seekers.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong and confident communicators who can engage professionally with speakers, participants, job seekers, and industry professionals.
  • Friendly and approachable individuals who can create a welcoming and inclusive environment for participants.
  • Reliable, organised, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage event information, member records, schedules, and follow-up activities.
  • Comfortable coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including speakers, volunteers, industry professionals, and participants.
  • Passionate about professional networking, employability, and building meaningful relationships in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative, with a genuine interest in contributing to the N+1 Networking Initiative and supporting its participants.

Why Volunteer With CLCN?

  • Join Australia’s first-of-its-kind grassroots talent incubator and a recognised ACNC-registered not-for-profit supporting international students, skilled migrants, and emerging professionals.
  • Develop real employability through hands-on project experience, structured career pathways, leadership development, and exposure to industry mentors.
  • Receive individual talent mapping and a personalised development pathway, including an Individual Development Plan (IDP) and Professional Development Plan (PDP) aligned to your goals.
  • Build a strong professional network across universities, government, industry, and multicultural communities.
  • Participate in regular learning and reflection, including monthly training sessions, focus groups, and skills-based workshops.
  • Be supported through a structured buddy system, wellbeing initiatives, and ongoing volunteer care.
  • Gain formal recognition for your contribution, including testimonials, certificates, references, and portfolio development support.
