Senior Medical Officer - General Practice | Correctional Health | Metropolitan VIC

The Role 

Full-Time | Monday–Friday | $405,000 + Super

A leading healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Officer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering primary healthcare services within a correctional health setting.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population presenting with a broad range of acute, chronic, mental health and complex healthcare needs. You will provide comprehensive clinical care, oversee treatment plans, contribute to clinical governance activities and support the ongoing development of healthcare services.

Working alongside experienced nurses, mental health clinicians and allied health professionals, you will play a key role in delivering healthcare that is equivalent to community standards while helping improve long-term health outcomes for patients.

The position offers a stable Monday to Friday roster, allowing doctors to focus on quality clinical care without the pressures of private practice billing or practice management.

Essential Criteria

• AHPRA Specialist Registration
• FRACGP and/or FACRRM
• Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience
• Strong clinical, communication and leadership skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
• Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol medicine, emergency medicine or correctional health will be highly regarded

Package

• $405,000 + Superannuation
• Full-time permanent position
• Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
