An opportunity exists for an experienced finance operations leader to join a large, well-established Western Australian not-for-profit organisation in a broad operational leadership role.

This is primarily a BAU operational leadership role, with opportunities to support continuous improvement initiatives as the finance function continues to evolve.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of a high-volume transactional finance operation.

Working closely with your team and internal stakeholders, you will ensure finance processes are delivered efficiently while contributing to ongoing improvements across systems, workflows and controls. Youll play a key role in ensuring the finance team delivers an efficient, responsive and customer-focused service across the organisation.

Core responsibilities include

Finance Operations

  • Leading the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function
  • Leading an established transactional finance team
  • Overseeing high-volume invoice processing, supplier payments and customer receipts
  • Managing banking, reconciliations and transactional finance controls
  • Monitoring team performance, workloads and service delivery
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing team members
  • Supporting month-end activities and operational finance reporting

Continuous Improvement

  • Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and workflows
  • Supporting ongoing finance systems enhancements
  • Assisting with automation and operational improvement initiatives
  • Reviewing procedures and controls to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Working closely with the Financial Controller to support the ongoing development of the finance function
  • Building strong relationships across finance and the broader organisation

About You

You are an experienced finance operations leader who enjoys improving processes, developing people and delivering high-quality transactional finance services.

  • Leadership experience across AP/AR
  • Strong knowledge of banking, reconciliations and financial controls
  • Experience leading and developing transactional finance teams
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Experience working within a medium to large, high-volume finance environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a practical, hands-on approach
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • 1 day work from home per week
