Full-time permanent Finance Officer role based in Hobart CBD working for a professional services firm

Your new company
An opportunity has become available for a detail-oriented Finance Officer to join a professional services environment, supporting the Finance Manager with end-to-end transactional finance and trust accounting activities. This role will suit someone who enjoys working across multiple finance functions and takes pride in accuracy, organisation and supporting a high-performing team. This role will see you working 9am till 2pm, Monday to Friday on a permanent basis in the Hobart CBD.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Daily trust and office account receipting and payment processing (EFT and cheque)Accounts payable and accounts receivable (creditors and debtors)Billing, invoicing and bank reconciliations Assisting with payroll processing, including superannuation and STP Supporting BAS, payroll tax and instalment activity statement preparation Maintaining accurate financial records and reports Responding to internal staff, supplier and client account enquiries Using cloud-based accounting and practice management systems

What you'll need to succeed
Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping (or equivalent experience)Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within professional servicesStrong experience using Xero, including bank feeds and purchasesExperience with statutory trust accounts (highly desirable)Exposure to legal accounting systems such as LEAP (highly regarded)High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skillsThe ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a teamProfessional communication skills and a commitment to confidentiality
