Depot Leader

This role is with Flyash Australia, a joint venture between Boral and Cement Australia. Flyash Australia is seeking a Depot Leader to join our team at Mt Piper.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a small team of 4-5 and take ownership of the day-to-day operations at the Mt Piper depot. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be across everything from fly ash processing and plant performance to safety, quality and team development. You will drive a Zero Harm culture on site, manage operational and maintenance activities, and ensure the depot consistently meets its volume, quality and cost targets.

This is a permanent, full-time day shift role (Monday to Friday) with reasonable additional hours as required.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise a small team across all day-to-day depot operations
• Drive a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance with site safety systems and procedures
• Rostering
• Oversee plant operations, performance and maintenance activities
• Maintain quality systems and ensure product meets required standards
• Manage operational costs and contribute to budget planning
• Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including power station personnel, customers and contractors
• Mentor and develop your team to build capability and maintain high standards

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within an industrial, manufacturing, mining or heavy industry environment
• A trade background (ideally fitting) is preferred but not essential - what matters most is your ability to lead a team and run a safe, efficient operation
• A genuine commitment to safety and experience working within structured safety management systems
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
• Experience with plant operations and an understanding of maintenance planning
• Proficiency with maintenance management systems (e.g. MEX or similar) is an advantage
• Working at heights, confined spaces and forklift licences are desirable - training can be provided for the right candidate
• Construction white card
• Current driver's licence (mandatory)
