Wine Steward (Sommelier) - Atlas Recruitment Experts

Located in McLaren Vale SA, Mitolo Wines is a premium winery offering wine tasting and dining experiences. The business is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Sommelier to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recommending wines and assisting guests with wine selection based on their preferences and menu choices
• Presenting and serving wines in accordance with professional service standards
• Providing guests with accurate information about wine varieties, vintages, regions, and tasting characteristics
• Recommending food and wine pairings to enhance the overall dining experience
• Monitoring wine inventory and assisting with stock control, ordering, and cellar organisation
• Ensuring wines are stored, handled, and served under appropriate conditions
• Assisting with the maintenance and development of the wine list and beverage offerings
• Conducting wine tastings and sharing product knowledge with guests
• Working collaboratively with front-of-house and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional customer service
• Ensuring compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements and workplace health and safety procedures

About You:

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Sommelier or in a similar wine service role
• Strong knowledge of wines, grape varieties, wine regions, and food and wine pairing principles
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to provide professional wine recommendations in a hospitality environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements

Job Type: Permanent / Full-time
Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 per annum
