About the opportunity

This is a new business role. You hunt, you win, you hand over.

You cover Melbourne’s south east, based in Dandenong. You are on the road with customers, not behind a desk.

You find businesses in your patch that do not ship with us. You learn how they trade. You build the case. You close the deal.

Then you onboard them yourself for three months. You make sure the service works before you hand the account to an Account Manager.

You report to the Sales Manager. You carry a traded revenue target and an annual contract value target.

The incentive upside here is significant. Win more, earn more.

You’ll also

  • Build a qualified pipeline across your territory of South East Melbourne and down the peninsula.
  • Meet your call grid and pipeline requirements every week.
  • Sell the full Australia Post and StarTrack range, not just parcels.
  • Build relationships up to C level in small and medium businesses.
  • Work with Solutions, Pricing, Bids & Tenders, Legal and Operations to close.
  • Hand over clean accounts that stay with us.

About you

You are a new business hunter. Cold ground does not bother you.

You like being out with customers. You ask questions before you pitch.

You are commercial. You can build a cost benefit case and defend it.

You want your earnings tied to your results.

You’ll also

  • Bring strong new business or acquisition sales experience.
  • Have a track record of closing complex solution sales.
  • Build C level relationships naturally.
  • Know your local market and how to read territory data.
  • Be confident with Excel and cost benefit selling.
  • Hold a current driver’s licence.

Desirable, not essential

  • A business or commerce degree.
  • Logistics, freight or eCommerce experience.

What else is in it for you?

  • Real incentive upside tied to the new business you win.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, allowing you to spend more time with customers.
  • Opportunities for growth and internal development in a large business.
  • Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket.

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us. If you’ve got questions about accessibility, reach out to our Diversity & Inclusion team at View email address on au.workus.org or on View phone number on au.workus.org.
