5 Hounds is looking for a creative, energetic Social Media & Content Creator to join our team full-time and help tell our story every day.

We’re a 100% vet-owned Australian fresh dog food company with a simple mission: helping dogs live longer.

And there is no shortage of content around here.

One day you might be filming Dr Will with his five dogs. The next, you’re on the farm, behind the scenes at manufacturing, meeting customers and their dogs, launching a new product or representing 5 Hounds at an event.

We want someone who lives and breathes social media and can turn the everyday chaos of a growing business into content people actually want to watch.

What you’ll be doing

• Creating and filming content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and emerging platforms
• Producing Reels, short-form video, stories, carousels and static content
• Working closely with Dr Will to turn veterinary education and everyday moments into engaging content
• Capturing dog, farm, manufacturing, packing and behind-the-scenes content
• Editing short-form video quickly and confidently
• Identifying trends and bringing fresh content ideas to the team
• Helping plan and execute our social content calendar and campaigns
• Getting involved in 5 Hounds events, activations, partnerships and community days
• Capturing content at events and helping bring the 5 Hounds brand to life in person
• Finding and sharing great customer and dog stories
• Engaging with and helping grow the 5 Hounds community
• Looking at what performs, learning from it and continually improving what we create

Who we’re looking for

You don’t necessarily need years of agency experience or a huge corporate CV. We care much more about whether you genuinely understand social media and know how to create great content.

You’re creative, energetic and confident behind and in front of a camera when needed. You’re comfortable approaching people, talking to customers and getting involved.

You understand Instagram and TikTok inside out, can edit confidently in platforms such as CapCut, and know the difference between content that simply looks good and content people actually stop to watch.

Most importantly, you’re proactive.

We want someone who brings ideas, grabs the camera and makes things happen, rather than waiting to be told what to create.

You’ll need to be comfortable with dogs, farm animals, manufacturing environments, events and the occasional bit of organised chaos.

Location

Ideally, you’ll be based in Geelong or the surrounding area.

We’re also open to someone based in Melbourne who is happy to travel to Geelong a couple of days each week.

This is a full-time role and isn’t something that can be done entirely from behind a laptop. The best 5 Hounds content happens around our dogs, our team, our customers, the farm, manufacturing and events, so being there to capture it is a big part of the job.

We’re not looking for someone to simply “manage our socials.”

We want someone who wants to help build 5 Hounds and come along for the ride.

Full-time position. Salary negotiable based on experience.
