About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking experienced Underground Coal Mine Operators and Supervisors for permanent full-time positions in the Bowen Basin, QLD — located less than two hours southwest of Mackay.

These positions operate on a 7/7 rotating roster, supporting work-life balance while offering consistent, long-term employment opportunities. The role also provides flexibility for FIFO/DIDO arrangements, with salary packaging options available to enhance accessibility for our diverse workforce.

This role will commence with a 6-month probation period, after which permanent employment will be confirmed, subject to performance.

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Chemical/resin injection works for ground consolidation and strata stabilisation
• Ventilation installation and maintenance works
• Strata consolidation activities
• Drilling, grouting and associated underground ground support works
• Contributing to Outbye services and general mine services
• Operating relevant underground equipment in accordance with competencies
• Ensuring compliance with site safety standards and procedures
• Supporting safe and efficient underground operations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold relevant underground mining competencies and tickets such as drifty, loader, airtrack and QDS drill rig, along with a valid Queensland “C” Class Driver Licence.

We are particularly interested in candidates with previous hands-on underground chemical injection/resin injection experience, particularly within strata consolidation, ground stabilisation or cavity fill works. Candidates with this experience will be highly regarded.

You will also require:

• Minimum 1 year Underground Coal Mining experience
• Current Coal Board Medical (or ability to obtain)
• Current Standard 11 Surface and Underground
• Demonstrated experience working safely within an underground coal mining environment

You must also be willing to undergo a full Pre-Employment Medical, Functional Capacity Examination, and successfully pass Drug & Alcohol Screening.

Highly regarded experience and attributes include:

• Previous chemical/resin injection and grouting experience
• Experience with ground consolidation and cavity fill pumping systems
• Experience using chemical injection pumps, pumping equipment and associated consumables
• Previous ventilation and strata consolidation experience
• Experience with underground drilling and ground support activities
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer literacy
