As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable applications supporting defence and space systems. Key responsibilities include: Designing, developing, and maintaining full stack applications across front-end and back-end systems Building secure, high-performance software solutions for Defence and Space environments Collaborating with cross-functional teams including systems, network, and Satcom engineers Developing APIs, microservices, and user interfaces to support mission systems Participating in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices Troubleshooting, debugging, and optimising system performance Ensuring compliance with security, accreditation, and quality standards Contributing to system documentation, architecture design, and technical decision-making Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Proven experience in full stack software development Proficiency in one or more front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue) Strong back-end development experience (e.g. Java, Python, Node.js, .NET) Experience with APIs, microservices architectures, and modern development practices Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), or DevSecOps practices (desirable) Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in secure, multidisciplinary environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Active NV2 or PV Security Clearance (mandatory)#LI-JS2 Together, as owners, let’s turn meaningful insights into action. CGI is seeking experienced Full Stack Software Engineers to join our growing Space, Defence & Intelligence (SDI) team. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that support Australia’s national security and next-generation space capabilities.
