    Job Description

    Reporting into the Payroll Team Lead, the successful Payroll Officer will be responsible for:

    • Processing end-to-end payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payment.
    • Maintaining payroll records and updating employee information within payroll systems.
    • Ensuring payroll practices comply with relevant legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and company policies.
    • Calculating and processing superannuation, PAYG withholding, salary packaging, and other payroll deductions.
    • Responding to payroll-related queries and providing professional support to employees and stakeholders.
    • Collaborating with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to improve payroll processes and reporting.
    • Preparing and lodging payroll tax, workers' compensation, and other statutory obligations.
    • Assisting with payroll reconciliations, audits, month-end reporting, and compliance requirements.

    The Successful Applicant

    A successful Payroll Officer will have:

    • Previous experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within a complex or high-volume environment. Experience within the healthcare sector will be highly regarded.
    • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as PayGlobal, UKG, or SAP, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
    • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, superannuation, PAYG, and statutory compliance requirements.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience using payroll and HRIS systems to manage payroll data and reporting.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies effectively.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across HR, Finance, and the wider business.
    • The ability to manage competing priorities, meet strict deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
