- Develop accurate, competitive cost estimates across labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Prepare high-quality estimates, tenders and bid documentation
- Collaborate with sales, project teams, suppliers and clients to deliver value-driven solutions
- Support business development activities, client presentations and bid negotiations
- Identify market trends, value-engineering opportunities and repeat business pathways
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships throughout the bid and pre-contract phase
- Continuously improve estimating accuracy, processes and commercial outcomes
- Must be an Australian Citizenship (NV1 Security Clearance eligibility required – Secom will support this)
- QLD Security Licence (or ability to obtain – Secom will support this)
- Drivers licence
- Experience in an allied field (Security, Electrical, Data/Communications, Control systems)
- Proven experience as an Estimator within electronic security or a related industry
- Strong understanding of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection and alarm systems
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and technical documentation
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with estimating software
- Professional certifications in estimating or construction

About the Role
As a BDM Estimator, you will be a key contributor to Secom’s growth strategy, responsible for developing accurate, commercially competitive estimates and compelling proposals for electronic security projects.
Working closely with the National Bid Manager, sales team, project managers and engineers, you will translate complex project requirements into winning solutions that balance technical excellence, risk management and profitability.
This role blends technical estimating expertise with business development, client engagement and strategic thinking.
