Administration and Projects Support
TANDEM INC
About Tandem
Tandem was established in 1994 and is the trusted voice of family and friends in mental health in Victoria. As the Victorian peak body with a sole focus on the needs and interests of mental health carers, Tandem provides leadership, coordination and knowledge for organisations and individuals working to improve outcomes for people living with mental health challenges, their family, carers and supporters. We are committed to ensuring the contribution, expertise, experiences and needs of family, carers and supporters are recognised — and that they are essential partners in recovery, service governance, planning, research and evaluation.
Your role
This is a great opportunity to join Tandem's Connect Coordination Victoria (CCV) team in a full-time, fixed term Administration and Projects Support role until 30th June 2027, based at our Abbotsford office. Reporting to the Statewide Coordinator – Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect, you will provide high-quality administrative, coordination and project support that keeps CCV activities running smoothly day to day. From scheduling and communications to data management, event logistics and reporting, you will be integral to enabling the team to deliver consistently high-quality services to the Connect centres and their workforces.
What you'll be doing
Your work will span four key areas:
- Administration support — provide responsive administrative support to Tandem stakeholders, manage calendars and meeting logistics, prepare agendas and accurate minutes, format and proofread correspondence and reports, maintain organised filing systems, and monitor the CCV inbox.
- Project support — help coordinate and track project activities, workplans and deliverables, assist with annual needs-based work plans, coordinate logistics for Communities of Practice sessions and training events, and support the development of resources and reporting on learning and development activity.
- Communications and stakeholder engagement — draft and distribute communications to providers and stakeholders, liaise across internal teams and external partners, and help prepare stakeholder updates, newsletters and other engagement materials.
- Organisational support — provide general administrative support across the wider Tandem organisation, including organisation-wide events and cross-functional projects, while contributing to a collaborative, values-led team culture.
What makes you ideal for this role?
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role, ideally within a not-for-profit, health or community services environment.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting professional correspondence and preparing clear documents.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a small team.
- Desirable: familiarity with the mental health, carer support or community services sector in Victoria.
Why join Tandem?
- This is a chance to bring your organisational and coordination skills to an organisation making a genuine difference for families, carers and supporters across Victoria's mental health system.
- Join a values-led organisation where inclusion, integrity, respect and collaboration are at the core of everything we do.
- Hybrid working and a range of flexible arrangements, including flexible start and finish times and work-from-home options to help balance work with family, health, study, carer responsibilities and other life commitments.
- Be part of a supportive team working at the forefront of Victoria's mental health system reform.
- SCHADS Level 3, fixed term until 30 June 2027.
