The Role

Due to significant growth and a strong pipeline of secured energy projects, they are seeking an experienced Estimator / Senior Estimator specialising in civil energy infrastructure.

Working alongside a high-performing pre-contracts team, you will lead first-principles estimation for major renewable energy builds, civil substations, grid connections, and battery storage solutions across Victoria and nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead first-principles civil estimating for high-value Wind Farm, BESS, Substation, and Battery Farm projects.

  • Analyse tender documents, scope of works, constructability requirements, and technical specifications.

  • Engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives to secure competitive pricing and establish strong partnerships.

  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering solutions during the tender phase.

  • Participate in client tender presentations and post-tender negotiations.

  • Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to ensure seamless handovers upon contract award.

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Proven track record estimating major civil infrastructure projects in Australia, with direct experience in the energy/renewables sector (Wind, Solar, BESS, Substations).

  • Skills: Strong expertise in first-principles civil estimating software (e.g., Expert Estimation, Candy, or similar).

  • Commercial Acumen: In-depth understanding of civil earthworks, concrete structures, electrical interface requirements, and risk management.

  • Communication: Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills.
