A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an experiencedJava Developer to join an established team. You will support the develop critical applications and systems capability within the department. The successfulJava Developer  will be offered an initial 12-month contractwith the view to extended for a further 24 monthsand receive a rewarding hourly rate.

The successfulJava Developer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Be responsible for all significant system / service uplift projects
• Be responsible for planning, developing, maintaining and enhancing NSS systems, components and processes.
• Develop the application according to business requirements and direction from the project team
• Perform software design, coding, review, and testing on systems to deliver technical upgrades and/or new features or capabilities on activities

The successful Java Developer will have experience in the following:

• Demonstrated experience in supporting or developing software systems, in particular in environments based on Java, JEE frameworks and containerisation (Kubernetes), Oracle, Unix, Windows, HTML5, CSS, Typescript, Javascript, React.
• Experience working with or leading ICT project teams using waterfall or Agile delivery methodology.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office or equivalent for documenting, organising information, delivering presentations and processing data.
• Well organised and detail focussed, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task to meet deadlines and manage competing tasks.
