About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our Adelaide team. This role acts as a conduit that synthesizes customer, commercial, strategic and product considerations into a coherent product vision, strategy and plan. The role turns customer need into a sequenced, deliverable plan.

Responsibilities

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand the products and services our customers need to enable their business strategies and be successful.
• Work with key stakeholders to conduct feasibility studies, POCs and develop business cases to support investment in new products that will underpin revenue growth.
• Engage with customers at a business value level, understanding their value chain and determining where HAMBS can best deliver value.
• Maintain the product vision and the value proposition for each product line.
• Translate customer and market insight into a clear direction for the portfolio.
• Own the product roadmap and keep it current as strategy and constraints shift.
• Embedded QA practice with product team.
• Own the acceptance criteria a change is verified against, traced to the customer requirement.
• Assure that delivered capability meets the specification agreed with the customers.
• Run or coordinate customer acceptance activity ahead of release.
• Work with the Business Analysts so requirements and acceptance criteria stay consistent.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in business, technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience with underpinning industry based professional development (essential).
• Product management or business analysis certification (desirable).
• 7+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management or business analysis, including at least three in a leadership role (essential).
• Track record of owning and delivering a product roadmap (essential).
• Experience prioritising demand against finite delivery capacity (essential).
• Experience producing reporting for an executive audience (essential).
• Experience leading a practice with practitioners embedded in other teams (essential).
• Comfortable making a firm call on priority and articulating the rationale.
• Able to hold a standard through influence across peers and teams.
• Experience in a software product environment (desirable).
• Knowledge and experience in the insurance and/or private health insurance sectors (desirable).
