FSA has recently been awarded a new and exciting contract covering Blackwater and Daunia in the Bowen Basin of Northen Queensland. As a result of this exciting new contract award on top of our year on year growth and expansion within the Queensland and National Resources, Energy and construction Sectors, Fire & Safety Australia is seeking experienced Paramedics and Rescue Paramedics, to support our new Coal Mining client.

The Roles:

All roles are either DIDO or FIFO to our client sites in Blackwater and Daunia Queensland with a 7:7 roster alternating day and nightshift 12 hour days.These roles form the critical security, medical and emergency response capability on behalf of our clients and are supported by onsite team leaders and a Regional Operations Support Manager as well as our Chief Medical advisor and on Call Emergency Doctors.

Key Responsibilities:

·Provision of medical services for emergency incidents and clinical first aid response.

·Complete inspections of medical equipment as required to maintain operational readiness in line with the Company’s SEM Equipment Management Plan and clinical governance requirements.

·Conducting fitness for work Drug and Alcohol testing at each shift change and at other times as required by the Company Representative.

·Monitor and maintain sufficient stock levels of medical consumables required to deliver the services.

·Maintain accurate log of all events, incidents and occurrences in the Company’s incident management system to required timeframes as advised by the Site Representative;

·Maintain accurate record of patient management in the company provided systems.

·Participate in emergency response/evacuation drills to ensure high level of response capability on site.

·Participate in process for review/approval of emergency response scenarios and plans related to high-risk activities.

·Assist with and enhance the Site’s emergency response and medical services, including continuous improvement assessments of processes.

·In conjunction with the relevant Company personnel, develop precautionary duties plans to minimise the risk of aggravation of work-related injuries or illnesses.

·Assist Company Personnel in the rehabilitation and return to work process for impacted workers

·Any other associated duties as reasonably requested by the Company

 

Essential Qualifications:

·Drivers Licence - C Class Manual Open

·Coal Board Medical - Rescue

·Immunisations - Tetanus, Hep A & B

·Standard 11 - Generic Induction Coal Surface

·RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Space or equivalent

·RIIWHS204W Work safely at heights or equivalent

·Course in Drug & Alcohol Testing HLTPAT005 or equivalent

·AHPRA Register Medical Professional - Paramedic or Nurse (Blackwater)

·AHPRA Registered Medical Professional - Paramedic (Daunia)

Desirable Qualifications

·Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE

·Operate Breathing Apparatus Open Circuit PUAFIR207B or equivalent

·Identify, Detect and Monitor Hazardous Materials at an Incident - PUAFIR316 or equivalent

·Render Hazardous Material Incidents Safe PUAFIR324 or equivalent

·Undertake Road Crash Rescue PUASAR24A or equivalent

·Undertake Vertical Rescue PUASAR032A or equivalent

·Undertake Confined Space Rescue PUASAR025A or equivalent

·Conduct Fire Team Operations RIIERR201D or equivalent

·Respond to Local Emergencies and Incidents RIIERR302D or equivalent

·Certificate III Emergency Response or equivalent

Experience:

·AHPRA Registered Paramedic with 2-5 years in a similar FIFO / DIDO role.

·Recent acute care experience, such as on-road emergency care or remote area emergency care.

·Physically fit and mentally prepared for remote field deployment

·Strong situational awareness and ability to work independently

·Flexible to work 12-hour shifts, Day shift, on an as rostered DIDO basis

·Flexibility with Roster with an approximate even time assignment.

·Demonstrated operational experience within the fire and rescue industry, preferably in the resources sector, including hydrocarbons, mining, processing, or power, or in construction, maritime, defence, or aviation.

·Demonstrated expertise in industrial fire, rescue, and emergency response concepts, procedures, and systems, supported by strong communication and organisational skills.

·Demonstrated experience in high-risk work activities, including rescue planning, gas testing, permit issuing, permit use, working at heights supervision, long line operations, hazardous areas awareness, exposure to major hazard facility warning systems, and the application of relevant codes of practice and regulations.

 

Working Environment:

·7 days on: 7 days off

·12 hour days

·Local Company Provided Camp based Accommodation and food.
