An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a well-established and highly regarded legal practice. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced senior lawyers across a diverse range of commercial and disputes. This role offers direct client contact, responsibility for managing files and excellent opportunities for ongoing career development.

The Role

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Managing commercial and civil litigation matters.
  • Advising clients on contractual, corporate, property and business disputes.
  • Conducting initial case assessments and developing litigation strategies.
  • Drafting pleadings, affidavits, witness statements, submissions and court correspondence.
  • Managing discovery, evidence and document-review processes.
  • Preparing matters for interlocutory applications, mediations and trials.
  • Briefing barristers and expert witnesses.
  • Instructing counsel at hearings and trials.
  • Representing clients at negotiations, mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Appearing in court and tribunal proceedings where appropriate.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing clear, commercially focused advice.
  • Managing files, deadlines, costs and client expectations.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

About You

To be considered, you will have:

  • A minimum of two years' post-admission experience in commercial or civil litigation.
  • Experience managing litigation matters from initial instructions through to resolution.
  • Strong drafting, advocacy, legal research and analytical skills.
  • A sound understanding of court procedures and applicable legislation.
  • Experience preparing court and tribunal documents.
  • The ability to manage files with an appropriate level of autonomy.
  • A practical and commercially focused approach to resolving disputes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A professional, collaborative and client-focused approach.

Experience in contractual disputes, property litigation, shareholder disputes, insolvency, debt recovery or building and construction disputes will be highly regarded.
