Hays Business Support are currently seeking an APS3 Interviewer for an Australian Government agency that provides independent labour market and skills analysis to help Australia meet its current and future workforce needs. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to nationally significant workforce research and data collection activities while working within a supportive and collaborative environment. The role will be part-time, with flexible service delivery options, and offered as a 6-month temporary contract.




Your new role




Based in Hobart, you will join a Federal Government agency as a Recruitment Survey and Interview Officer, supporting the collection of workforce and labour market data that informs national employment and skills initiatives. Working within a supportive team, you will conduct telephone interviews with Australian businesses, gathering information on recruitment activity, hiring outcomes and workforce needs. You will accurately record survey responses, maintain data quality standards, and assist with a range of administrative tasks, including data validation, quality checks and team support activities. This role is well suited to candidates with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build rapport over the phone while meeting quality and performance targets.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage professionally with a range of stakeholders. In addition, you will be able to:

  • Conduct professional telephone interviews and build rapport with stakeholders
  • Accurately record data with strong attention to detail
  • Manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
  • Adapt to changing workloads and support team outcomes
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement and accountability
  • Meet quality standards and performance targets
  • Uphold the APS Values and Code of Conduct

As this is a Federal Government job, all applicants must be an Australian citizen.

Baseline Security Clearance is required.
